
<p><strong>Monsoon Rain:</strong> Monsoon rains continue across the country. Intermittent rainfall has been reported across many parts of the country for the past 24 hours. Today, a red alert has been issued for Ajmer, Nagaur, and Pali districts of Rajasthan. An alert for extremely heavy rainfall has been issued. The Meteorological Department (IMD) has instructed people in these districts to exercise caution. Meanwhile, a warning for heavy rainfall has also been issued for Bikaner, Jodhpur, and Jalore in Rajasthan. In the past 24 hours, 24 people have died in various incidents due to heavy rainfall in Rajasthan.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Possibility of Hailstorms in Bihar</h2>



<p>There is a possibility of hailstorms in the southern parts of Bihar. The Meteorological Department stated that there is a likelihood of very heavy rainfall at one or two places in Jamui, Nawada, and Gaya districts. An orange alert has been issued in this regard.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Narmada River Flows Above Danger Mark</h2>



<p>Heavy rainfall is occurring in MP. Due to this, the Narmada River is in spate. According to the Water Department, the Narmada is flowing above the danger mark. The Meteorological Department stated that intermittent rainfall has continued for the past seven days in Jabalpur, Rewa, and 10 other districts. Many areas and villages in Sheopur are inundated. Water has accumulated in houses, shops, and even hospitals.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Grim Situation in Himachal</h2>



<p>The situation is even worse in Himachal. In the past 24 days, 105 people have died due to rain-related incidents. More than 200 roads in the state are closed. Thousands of transformers have been damaged. The Manali-Chandigarh highway has been closed daily for the past three days due to landslides.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Flood-like Situation in Several Cities of UP</h2>



<p>Due to torrential rain, flood-like conditions have developed in several cities of UP. Waterlogging problems have been reported in 15 cities, including Lucknow, Kanpur, and Bareilly. Several dams in the state have overflowed. On Monday, 15 gates of the Govind Sagar dam in Lalitpur were opened.</p>

<p>Congress leader Ramchandra Kadam stated that under the &#8216;double engine&#8217; government, a reign of terror has been established. He said that the issue of women&#8217;s and girls&#8217; safety was repeatedly raised in the assembly, but the government paid no heed. He alleged that everyone, from the Chief Minister to the Education Minister, Collector, and Superintendent of Police, was aware of the matter, yet no action was taken. He further demanded the immediate resignation of the Chief Minister and stringent action against the culprits.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Congress calls for a ‘Bandh’</h2>



<p>Congress has called for a statewide ‘bandh’ in Odisha on July 17th. The student, a victim of sexual harassment, attempted self-immolation on July 12th and succumbed to her injuries three days later. Congress has questioned the BJP government in Odisha following the student&#8217;s death. The Odisha Congress President, Bhakta Charan Das, and leaders from eight political parties held a joint press conference at the Congress Bhavan on Tuesday, announcing the statewide ‘bandh’ on July 17th in conjunction with these parties.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Rahul Gandhi blames the system</h2>



<p>Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, stated that the death of a daughter fighting for justice in Odisha is a direct murder by the system. The Congress MP wrote on X (formerly Twitter), that the brave student raised her voice against sexual exploitation, but instead of justice, she was threatened, harassed, and repeatedly humiliated. Those who were supposed to protect her continued to break her. As always, the BJP system protected the accused, forcing an innocent daughter to set herself on fire.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">This is not suicide, but murder by the system: CPI(M)</h2>



<p>CPI(M) Odisha state secretary, Suresh Chandra Paniagrahi, also strongly condemned the incident. He described it as a result of moral decay and institutional failure, stating that it is not suicide but murder by the system. He held the college principal and the lecturer&#8217;s negligence, along with the apathy of the district administration and the government, responsible for the incident.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">What is the full story?</h2>



<p>The 20-year-old student, who had set herself on fire on the college campus, was admitted to AIIMS, Bhubaneswar, for the past few days and died late Monday night. The student was referred from Balasore District Hospital on July 12th. She received all necessary medical facilities, including IV support, ventilation, antibiotics, and renal therapy. She suffered 90% burns. The hospital reported that she died at 11:46 PM on July 14th during treatment.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Long-standing complaints of sexual harassment</h2>



<p>The student had been complaining about sexual harassment by her department head for a long time. It is alleged that neither the college principal nor other responsible officials took any concrete action on her complaints. She was constantly threatened and humiliated. Distressed, she took this extreme step.</p>

<p>The Aam Aadmi Party government introduced a bill against the desecration of religious texts in the Punjab Legislative Assembly on 14 July. This bill proposes life imprisonment for those who desecrate religious texts. The Punjab Prevention of Offences Against Holy Scriptures Bill, 2025, was approved in a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Mann before the commencement of the third day of the Punjab Legislative Assembly&#8217;s special session. In recent years, several instances of desecration of religious texts and institutions have occurred in Punjab. In light of this, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann introduced the ‘Punjab Prevention of Offences Against Holy Scriptures Bill 2025’ for discussion in the House.</p>



<p><strong>Punishment for Anti-Sacrilege Bill in 2025:</strong> However, Leader of the Opposition Pratap Singh Bajwa stated that party leaders require time to effectively formulate their opinions on the proposed legislation. Subsequently, the Speaker adjourned the discussion on the bill until Tuesday.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">What constitutes an offence?</h2>



<p><strong>What is the offence of Anti-Sacrilege?</strong> Under this bill, the offence includes the defilement, damage, destruction, disfigurement, distortion, degradation, burning, breaking, or tearing of any holy scripture or any part thereof. Offences under this act will be cognizable, non-bailable, and non-compoundable, and will be tried by a Sessions Court. The investigation of this offence will not be conducted by a police officer below the rank of Deputy Superintendent of Police.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Life imprisonment and a fine of up to ₹20 lakh</h2>



<p>The proposed law reportedly prescribes stringent punishment, including life imprisonment, for the insult of holy scriptures, including the Guru Granth Sahib, Bhagavad Gita, Bible, and Quran. The bill proposes that any person found guilty of desecration can face imprisonment ranging from 10 years to life imprisonment, along with a fine ranging from ₹5 lakh to ₹10 lakh. Those attempting to desecrate religious texts may face imprisonment of three to five years and a fine of up to ₹3 lakh.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">₹20 lakh fine for inciting riots or causing death</h2>



<p><strong>Punishment For Anti-Sacrilege activities?</strong> The bill proposes that if the desecration of religious texts or institutions leads to communal riots, loss of human life, or damage to public or private property, the offenders can face imprisonment ranging from 20 years to life imprisonment, along with a fine of ₹10-20 lakh. There is no provision for parole or furlough for those receiving the maximum sentence or failing to pay the fine.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Recommendation made by the Akali and BJP coalition government</h2>



<p>In 2016, the then Akali-BJP government proposed the IPC (Punjab Amendment) Bill, 2016 and the CrPC (Punjab Amendment) Bill 2016, recommending life imprisonment for acts of desecration against the Guru Granth Sahib. The central government refused to approve the bill, stating that equal treatment should be given to all religions, considering the secular nature of the Constitution.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Recommendation for Guru Granth Sahib, Bhagavad Gita, Quran…</strong></h2>



<p>In 2018, Captain Amarinder Singh&#8217;s Congress government passed two bills – the &#8216;Indian Penal Code (Punjab Amendment) Bill 2018&#8217; and the ‘Code of Criminal Procedure (Punjab Amendment) Bill 2018’, which provided for life imprisonment for damaging or desecrating the Guru Granth Sahib, Bhagavad Gita, Quran, and Bible. However, neither bill received Presidential assent.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Over 100 desecration incidents in five years</h2>



<p>According to Punjab&#8217;s intelligence department, more than 100 desecration incidents have occurred in the last five years. Although sections 298, 299, and 300 of the Indian Penal Code 2023 address such issues, they are insufficient. This is why the lack of a law directly addressing offences against ‘holy scriptures’ often leads to leniency or a failure to take strong action against the culprits.</p>

<p><strong>Patna Crime News</strong>: The body of Abhishek Varun, branch manager of ICICI Lombard, who had been missing from Patna for the past 36 hours, was recovered this morning. He had attended a party with his family. After the party, he sent his family home, telling his wife he would be late. He then disappeared. Thirty-six hours later, police recovered his body from a well.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Phone Call to Wife</h2>



<p>Branch manager Abhishek Varun called his wife around 3 a.m. on Sunday to inform her that he had been in an accident. According to the police, his phone was switched off after this call, and there was no further contact.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Body Recovered from Well</h2>



<p>Abhishek Varun’s family said that after receiving the call, they searched extensively for him. When they couldn&#8217;t find him, they informed the Kankarbagh police station. The family and police searched for Varun, but to no avail. His last known location was traced to the Beur police station area. Police found his body there. According to the police, his scooter and slippers were also recovered from the same well. Police are now investigating whether Abhishek&#8217;s death was an accident or a planned murder.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Police Launch Investigation</h2>



<p>Police are questioning Abhishek’s wife and friends who were at the party. They are also questioning his close friends in Ramkrishna Nagar, where the party was held, to ascertain his behaviour during the party, who he spoke to, and what was discussed. They are investigating whether there was anything unusual about his behaviour at the party.</p>

<p>A shocking incident recently unfolded in Pakistan. A man was mistakenly put on the wrong flight and sent to another country. Malik Shahzain, who boarded a flight on July 7th from Lahore to Karachi, experienced something completely unexpected. Instead of Karachi, he ended up in a different country altogether.</p>

<p>On July 7th, Shahzain, who was travelling on AirSial from Lahore to Karachi, was mistakenly sent to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Shahzain, an electrical engineer, was returning to Karachi to be with his sick child. He showed his boarding pass at Lahore airport, but airline staff, without properly checking, seated him on an international flight to Jeddah. International flights require passports and visas, but the airline staff failed to check either. <p>At Jeddah airport, Shahzain faced lengthy questioning as he lacked a passport and visa. After understanding the situation, Saudi authorities acknowledged the airline&#8217;s negligence and instructed that Shahzain be sent back to Pakistan. However, AirSial sent him back to Lahore instead of Karachi, stating that he would have to buy a new ticket himself to reach Karachi. His luggage, however, arrived correctly in Karachi.</p>

The Federal Investigation Agency is also investigating how a passenger was allowed to board an international flight without a passport and visa. <p>Rahul Yadav, also known as Rahul Fazilpuria, is a well-known YouTuber and a close friend of Elvish Yadav, the winner of Bigg Boss OTT 2. Both were involved in a controversy in 2023 concerning the alleged use of snake venom at a rave party. In 2024, Fazilpuria gained further attention when he received a Gurugram ticket from Ajay Singh Chautala&#8217;s JJP party, though he ultimately lost the election. He has a significant social media following, boasting 1.2 million followers on Instagram.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Fazilpuria Speeds Away After Hearing Gunfire</h2>



<p>During the attack, the rapper was travelling in his white Thar vehicle. Assailants in another car opened fire from behind. Upon realising the danger, the singer sped away in his Thar, escaping unharmed. Police arrived at the scene immediately after receiving reports of the incident.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Gurugram Police Investigating the Case</h2>



<p>Gurugram police have launched an investigation and search operation to apprehend the attackers. Police officials stated that they received reports of gunfire on the SPR road approximately an hour prior. The Gurugram police&#8217;s crime scene team is currently on site conducting investigations. Reports suggest that the STF received intelligence a few days earlier about potential attacks on singers. This intelligence is now part of the ongoing investigation. Concerns are being raised that the incident could have resulted in Fazilpuria&#8217;s death, similar to the case of Sidhu Moosewala a few years ago.</p>

<p>A heartbreaking incident has come to light from Chhatarpur district in Madhya Pradesh. Three young siblings died after drowning in water. The entire village is mourning, and the family is devastated. Upon receiving information, the police arrived at the scene, recovered the bodies, prepared a panchnama, and sent the bodies to the district hospital for post-mortem.</p>



<p>It is reported that the three children, residents of Hatwa village under the Prakash Bamhori police station area, had gone to their field after returning from school with the intention of planting a mango tree. While playing near a pond filled with rainwater near the field, they accidentally went into deeper water and drowned.</p>

<p>Hundreds of citizens submitted a memorandum to MLA Sarvan Nishad protesting against sex rackets operating in several hotels in Gorakhpur. The MLA stated that over two dozen hotels are illegally operating on NH 28, Gorakhpur-Lucknow Road. These hotels, located in the AIIMS and Khorabar police station areas, are openly involved in prostitution. The MLA has written to the DM, Commissioner, and SSP demanding action. Locals reported that young men and women frequent these hotels throughout the day, negatively impacting local children.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Raid on a House in Chiluatala, Police Arrest Occupants</h2>



<p>News spread quickly through the city about a police raid on a sex racket operating in a house in Millennium City, Karimnagar, Chiluatala. A raid was conducted on Sunday night under the leadership of CO Campierganj, Vivek Kumar Tiwari. Three women and two men were apprehended, one of whom was found to be a minor. The house belongs to a man named Badan Singh, who had rented it out.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Interrogation Reveals Sex Trade Run from Rented House</h2>



<p>CO Campierganj Vivek Tiwari explained that on Sunday, they received information about a sex trade operating in a house in Millennium City. Upon receiving the information, he and the station house officer Atul Srivastava, raided the identified house. Seeing the police, those present tried to escape, but the police apprehended them all. Interrogation revealed that the house was rented and used for prostitution.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Arrests Made</h2>



<p>Three women and two men were arrested during the raid. One of them was a minor girl, who has been handed over to the CWC (Child Welfare Committee). Those arrested have been identified as Brijesh Kumar Sahni alias Vijay, resident of Ekala Number 2, Gulriha police station, and Prem Sahni, resident of Harsekpur Number 2.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Action Against House Owner</h2>



<p>One of the arrested women was presented before the District Probation Officer, while an FIR has been registered against one woman and two men under the Immoral Trafficking Act and relevant sections of the POCSO Act. The CO stated that an investigation into the house owner&#8217;s role is underway. If he knowingly rented the house despite being aware of the racket, legal action will be taken against him.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Crackdown on Sex Trade for the Past Year</h2>



<p>For the past year, the police have been cracking down on the supply of girls to hookah bars and several hotels, sealing several hotels and jailing the accused under the Gangster Act. Despite this, young men and women continue to engage in such activities in hotels; shockingly, underage girls are openly involved in this trade.</p>



<p>SP City Abhinav Tyagi stated that strict action, including the seizure of property, will be taken against those hotels found involved in this illicit activity, and those responsible will face severe consequences.</p>

<p><strong>Railway Coach Factory Vacancy:</strong> Integral Coach Factory (ICF), a unit under the Indian Railways, has announced a recruitment drive for a large number of apprentice positions. <p>The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has released the admit cards for the Assistant Engineer (AE) recruitment examination 2025. Candidates who applied for this examination can now download their admit cards from the commission&#8217;s official website. The commission has clarified that admit cards are only available online and will not be sent to any candidate by post or any other means.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Exam Date and Location</h2>



<p>The Assistant Engineer recruitment examination will be held on 17, 18 and 19 July 2025. This examination will be held at designated centres in major cities of the state, Patna, Muzaffarpur, Darbhanga and Bhagalpur. All candidates are advised to reach the centre at least two hours before the start of the examination to ensure timely entry.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Selection Process</h2>



<p>A total of 1024 vacancies will be filled under this recruitment process. The selection will be in two stages: a written examination followed by an interview. Candidates who successfully pass the written examination will be called for an interview. The final merit list will be prepared based on the performance in both the written examination and the interview. Candidates are advised to regularly visit the official BPSC website for more information and guidelines related to the examination.</p>

 सावन माह में भगवान भोलेनाथ की भक्ति का अलग ही उत्साह है। पहले सोमवार को शहर के शिवालयों में सुबह से ही भक्तों का तांता लगा रहा। 

भक्त भगवान भोलेनाथ को दूध, जल, आदि से अभिषेक करके बेलपत्ती चढ़ा कर उन्हें प्रसन्न करने का प्रयास कर रहे थे। 

शहर के मुख्य शिवमंदिर पातालेश्वर धाम एवं मोक्षधाम महाकाल शिवमंदिर में सुबह चार बजे से ही भक्तों की कतार लग गई। 

पातालेश्वर धाम मंदिर में बेलपत्ती से भगवान भोलेनाथ की मूर्ति का शृंगार हुआ, गर्भगृह में विराजे भगवान शिव एवं मां पार्वती की प्रतिमा आकर्षण का केंद्र बनी हुई थी।
